How to Access Samsung S10 with Black/Broken Screen

You might accidentally dropped your Samsung Galaxy s10 onto concrete and broke the screen, now you want to know how to transfer data from your Samsung to computer for backup. Although your phone is still working, but your screen might not, so you won’t be able to give the computer access to data on your mobile phone. If you recently backup your Samsung S10 to your computer, you can simply restore it, otherwise, you’ll need to figure out a way to do this.

In this article, I’ll cover two solutions, one is for tech-savvy and needs a little coding knowledge. You’ll need to install Android Control and it’s free. The other method requires you to buy and install a software and it’s not free. The software is specially designed for recovering data from Android mobile phone and you can access to all of your data with a few simple clicks.  

Method 1: Free method to access to Samsung S10 broken screen

There is a free tool called Android Control which lets you use Samsung S10 even with a broken screen via computer. It’s developed by XDA Forum Member k.janku1, and can be used on rooted and non-rooted Samsung s10.

To use Android Control, you’ll need to have USB debugging mode enabled on your Samsung S10 and install ADB, which can be downloaded from

USB Debugging mode facilitates a connection between an Android device and a computer and grants your access to your Samsung S10 via computer.

Here is the step by step guide to enable USB Debugging mode:

Step 1: On home screen, swipe up or down to open the apps pages.

Step 2: Open Settings, select About phone and click Software Information. Scroll down to the screen and tap Build number several times to enable Developer mode.

Step 3: Then go back to Settings, click “Developer Options”. Turn it on.

Step 4: Scroll down the screen and turn on “USB Debugging” and you’ll popped up a message asking “Allow USB Debugging”, click “OK”.

After you enable USB debugging mode, follow the steps below to access your smashed Samsung S10 on your computer.

Step 1: Install ADB on your computer. When installation is finished, it’ll create a shortcut on your desktop. Use it to open a command prompt.

Step 4: You can use the on-screen controls and keyboard to launch apps and backup any data that you have not already stored in the cloud. Besides, there are built in buttons that allows you reboot your Android, to access recovery mode, and to disable pattern lock.

Method 2: Use Wondershare dr.fone to Access Data in Samsung s10.

Medthod 2’s logic is totally different from method 1, which gain you access to your Samsung phone via your PC. Wondershare dr.fone won’t enable you to operate your phone on PC, but it allows to access your important data on Samsung s10 with broken screen and you can choose to backup everything or simply the important files like photos, messages, notes, emails, etc. The good thing is, if you smash your phone so bad and it won’t even reboot or stuck in the reboot loop, you can still use dr.fone to recover your data. Moreover, it’s super easy to use and the interface is very straight-forward and you’ll be guided through the whole process of data backup.

Here is step by step guide on access to Samsung S10 data via dr.fone:

Step 1: Go to dr.fone official website to download and install dr.fone to your PC, make sure you download the right version, it’s available for both windows and Mac. In the main interface, Choose “Recover” on the left.
