Contacts are very important to you and you need an easy way to have them back. If you have contacts backup in iCloud or iTunes, you can have it back to your iPhone easily. Method 1: Retrieve contacts from iCloud or iCloud.com
If have backup your iPhone using iCloud, you can recover contacts to your iPhone very easy. Don’t know if you backup or not? You can check your backup by tapping Settings > iCloud and see if it’s turn on. If so, follow the below steps to recover your contacts.
Step 1: Go to “Settings”. On iOS 10.2 or earlier, select “iCloud”. For later version of iOS, tap on your name on the top of the screen, choose “iCloud”.
Step 2: Check if “Contact” option is on and using iCloud, if so, turn it off and in the pop-up window, choose “Keep on My iPhone”.
Step 3: Now turn “Contacts” on again and choose “Merge”. You’ll have all your contacts on your iPhone.
Alternatively, you can retrieve contacts from iCloud.com if you have backups on iCloud. Below is the step by step guide:
Step 1: On your computer, visit iCloud.com, sign in to your iCloud account.
Step 2: Choose “Contacts” from the options. To download all contacts to your PC, tap on the gear icon on the lower left corner and choose “Select All”. Now click “Export vCard” and you’ll have all contacts save to your PC. To download specific contacts, simply hit Shift or Ctrl key to select the contacts you need to download, and then choose “Export vCard” to save them to your PC.
Method 2: Get contacts back to iPhone via iTunes
If you didn’t have you contacts backup in iCloud but you sync via iTunes, you’ll probably have a copy of all your contacts in iTunes. You’ll able to sync your contacts to your iPhone following the steps below:
Step 1: Connect your iPhone to your computer and then launch iTunes.
Step 2: Click on the Device tab and choose your iPhone. In “Summary”, choose “Restore iPhone”
Step 3: Now choose a backup to restore your iPhone from. Then all the content on your iPhone will be replaced by the backup. Make sure you have a backup of your latest iPhone first, in case you lost anything important when syncing backup to your iPhone.
Method 3: Restore iPhone Contacts through iPhone Settings
In some circumstances, changes iPhone contacts setting in iPhone might also help to restore deleted contacts. Below we offer three Setting changes and you can give it a try to see if they work for you:
- Change Contacts’ Groups Settings
Open Contacts, tap Groups on the top right corner
Uncheck All iCloud
Select All on iPhone
Click on Done (top right)
Check if you got back all contacts
- Reset the Network Connections
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Choose Reset iPhone Network Connections in the pop up message
Now Enter your passcode and choose Reset Network Settings to continue, don’t be scared by the message that reminding you “this action will delete all your network settings”. This action will only clear your current saved networks and Wi-Fi passwords, which you can re-enter later. So give this a try to retrieve lost contacts.
Method 4: Recover lost Contacts on iPhone using Data Recovery Program
